Bats and Biodiversity on the Monaghan Greenway.
This event was led by Sean Meehan (Irish Wildlife Trust) on a warm dry evening. With introductions made, we began with a look at biodiversity along the Ulster Canal Greenway from Old Cross Square heading northwards.
Bee Transect
Recording pollinators is an important aspect of promoting pollinators and one of our important targets is to get more people recording local wildlife and particularly bees.
Dragonfly Workshop and Field Trip in Rossmore Forest Park
A second Heritage Week 2023 workshop on identifying and recording dragonflies and damselflies was hosted by Monaghan Wetlands Forum and Monaghan Tidy Towns with support from the Local Authority Wetlands Programme.

Over Three moth traps set out around Monaghan on the Friday night were opened in Rossmore Park on Saturday 15 July.

The Living Giants of Rossmore Park
As part of the Giants Festival in Rossmore Park, ecologist Billy Flynn led a walk for children and parents/guardians to discover some of the living giants in the park.
